Robert, you have some misinformation. Quicken Mac definitely will work with your Windows data file. In fact, Quicken Mac will simply import your Quicken Windows data file; there's no need to export anything from Quicken Windows. Simply copy your Windows data file to your Mac, open Quicken Mac, select File > New if it isn't on the 'Let's Get Started' page, and select the option to start from a Quicken Windows File.
One thing to be aware of is that while you can move from Windows to Mac, you cannot move back the other way. So I'd suggest you run your Quicken Windows and Quicken Mac in parallel until you determine which one you want to use going forward.
There are lots of differences with Quicken Mac -- consider the programs to be close cousins, not identical twins -- some for the bette rand man amor for the worse. Some of the limitations of Quicken Mac are minor or inconsequential to users coming from Windows, but for some users, they are showstoppers.
