  • Sep 16, 2017  I've been using both CodeBlocks and Xcode on Mac for a couple of years. Xcode is great for developing Mac applications. CodeBlocks is great if you need a cross-platform IDE. I'll outline the steps I used to get it working (fairly simple). Get CodeBlocks version 12.11. Don't go here.
  • Code::Blocks is a free, open source cross-platform IDE (Integrated Development Environment) which works alongside compilers such as GCC, Visual C, and Clang. It is currently oriented towards just a few fundamental programming languages: C, C, and Fortran.
  • Code::Blocks is a free, open-source, cross-platform C, C and Fortran IDE built to meet the most demanding needs of its users. It is designed to be very extensible and fully configurable. Finally, an IDE with all the features you need, having a consistent look, feel and operation across platforms.

Code Block Mac Permission Denied

Dec 18, 2014  code blocks does not compile on mac OSX. Ask Question 1. I have been trying to run code blocks on my mac (10.7.5) and have hit a wall. I've researched many other threads with people that have had similar problems, but still not able to figure it out. I'm sure its something simple that I'm missing.

The open source, cross platform, free C, C++ and Fortran IDE.

Code::Blocks is a free C, C++ and Fortran IDE built to meet the most demanding needs of its users. It is designed to be very extensible and fully configurable.

Finally, an IDE with all the features you need, having a consistent look, feel and operation across platforms.

Built around a plugin framework, Code::Blocks can be extended with plugins. Any kind of functionality can be added by installing/coding a plugin. For instance, compiling and debugging functionality is already provided by plugins!

Special credits go to darmar for his great work on the FortranProject plugin, bundled since release 13.12.

We hope you enjoy using Code::Blocks!
